Special Class March 16th!!!

I have decided to hold a class next Wednesday evening, March 16th. You can sign up by email (terry@pauldingandco.com or aldente@sonic.net will both work), and pay at the class. The cost is only $55/person (this is less than an adult school single class). The menu includes lots of items suitable to an Easter or Passover meal. All the dishes are easy, fairly quick to make, and totally delicious. Please sign up by Monday morning at the latest; if I don’t have enough people, I’ll have to cancel it Monday to be fair to those who did sign up.

Menu

  • Spring carrot soup with pesto croutons
  • Roast boneless leg of lamb with pan gravy
  • Pan-roast of German Butterball new potatoes with fresh artichokes and garlic
  • Asparagus cooked on the grill
  • Strawberry custard-cup soufflés

Please don’t delay in signing up, as this class is coming up very fast! Registration starts at Piedmont Adult School

The spring quarter begins March 28th, and sign-up starts this Monday, the 14th. There are a LOT of great classes being offered, including my Basic Cooking Spring Supper Club, with an emphasis on fast, fun and easy foods this time around. The class series will include dishes suitable to making for a few people or expanding to feed a crowd, with lots of new recipes for spring. I’ll teach it Tuesday and Wednesday nights, for 6 weeks beginning the 29th of March; you can sign up for either night. Cost is $250 for the series. As always, this includes a full meal each night.

Linda Hillel will also be teaching her classes for Piedmont at the Kitchen in Emeryville. For any of you who haven’t checked out her classes, they are Saturday workshops, and generally a comprehensive look at a single subject. Since Linda grew up in Japan, she brings that sensibility to her recipes—they are really quite wonderful, and she’s a meticulous teacher.

You can access the class descriptions by going to www.pauldingandco.com and clicking on Classes then Calendar; or go to the Piedmont site, which will be updated in time for registration next Monday, at www.piedmontadultschool.org

You’ll also findRosetta Costantino’s wonderful Italian cooking classes listed on my calendar, and although her Ricotta making/ Cooking with Ricotta classes this month have sold out, she just added another section, on May 20th. You sign up directly with Rosetta for these classes, and although they cost a bit more ($75 each), you will definitely get your money’s worth—and you won’t even have to do your own dishes. She also has a few slots for assistants at a reduced rate for each class, as well, although those slots go fast. I’ve personally learned a lot from Rosetta, and highly recommend her classes to all of you. Please note that these are NOT Piedmont adult school classes, and you sign up directly with Rosetta. All the information is in my calendar, at www.pauldingandco.com/classes.

Other News

My lovely flyer, designed by my daughter Tracy and finished by a local graphic designer, is finally going to press next week. It outlines all the services you can get at my kitchen, from work group team building to kitchen parties and private classes to catering. If anyone wants me to mail them a copy, email me at terry@pauldingandco.com, and I’ll send one—also to any business contacts you’d like to have learn about my services. In about a month, my updated and very much improved web site should be on line as well.

Finally, for those of you who suffered through my traumatic kitchen building experience, and the many of you who supported me during that time with kind words and deeds and by taking up paint brushes, I want to thank you for putting up with me! I know a lot of time has passed by, but it’s never too late to say thanks. And, a bit of news—at long last the Contractors License Board investigator is going to pay me a visit on Tuesday. Almost a year to the day since I sent in my complaint.

I hope to see some of you back in classes very soon, and of course, welcome your inquiries about other events you might wish to develop plans for!
